Microphone

Microphone is a computer input devices such as voice captured by the michrophone. Microphones are also used in telephone, hearing aid, public events, motion picture production, live and recorded audio engineering, two-way radios, megaphones, radio and television broadcasting, etc.

How the Microphone Works:

  • When we speak, our voice will form a sound wave and headed to the microphone.
  • In microphone, the sound waves will hit the diaphragm which consists of a very thin plastic membrane. Diaphragm vibrates according to the sound waves that it receives.
  • A coil or Voice Coil located at the rear of the diaphragm will also vibrate in accordance with vibration of the diaphragm.
  • A small fixed magnet which is surrounded by the coil creates a magnetic field in line with the movement of Coil.
  • Voice Coil movement in this magnetic field will induce an electrical signal.
  • Electricity generated signals are then flowed to the Amplifier or a sound recording device.
