Camcorder
Camcorder is a portable recording device that has the ability to live-motion video and audio, which can be played in the Video Cassette Recorder (VCR), TV, and computer. Camcorder consists of camera and recorder, usually used to make a family film, special events, or vacations.
Camcorder have three main components: lens, imager and recorder.
- Lens gathers light, focusing it on the imager.
- Imager (usually a CCD or CMOS sensor; earlier models used vidicon tubes) converts incident light into an electrical signal.
- Recorder converts the electrical signal to video, encoding it in a storable form. The lens and imager comprise the "camera" section.
